Can you help with concept and location scouting?
Yes — concept direction and location scouting across Knysna, George, Plettenberg Bay and Mossel Bay are part of the editorial process.
You can simply come to us with an idea of the kind of imagery/footage you want. We can help develop the visual direction and production plan from there.
Do you work with influencers and creators as well as companies?
Yes. The production can be scaled to suit an individual creator, influencer, personal brand, editorial team, agency or larger commercial campaign.
Can we include video production?
Yes, we can scale any production to meet the logistic & scale requirements of your project.
Can you organise the entire shoot for us?
Yes. We can manage the process from the initial creative brief through location research, mood boards, scouting, itinerary development, access and permissions, local operators, logistics, safety considerations and the photography itself.
Do you handle permits and permissions?
We can identify what permissions, permits or approvals may be required for a particular production and coordinate the relevant process where this forms part of the agreed scope. Requirements vary considerably by location and type of production, so these are assessed during pre-production.
Can you organise local guides, operators or specialist equipment?
Yes. Depending on the shoot, we can coordinate suitable local operators, guides, boats, vehicles, specialist access or other production support. These are sourced according to the requirements of the project and are subject to availability and appropriate credentials. All our guides are registered.
What about safety and risk?
Safety is built into the planning process, particularly for remote, coastal, mountainous, operational or otherwise challenging environments. We consider factors such as access, terrain, weather, transport, equipment, local conditions and the activities involved, and incorporate appropriate precautions and contingency planning into the production.
Can you build an itinerary around the best light?
Absolutely. Rather than treating the itinerary as a sightseeing schedule, we build it around the images we’re trying to create — taking into account sunrise, sunset, weather, travel time, location access, changing conditions and the amount of time required at each location.
How far in advance should we plan?
It depends on the location, access requirements and complexity of the production. Straightforward shoots can sometimes be arranged relatively quickly, while private access, permits, specialist operators and multi-location productions benefit from significantly more lead time.
What happens if weather or conditions make the shoot impossible?
The weather in the Western Cape can be temperamental and as such we build contingency plans into the production from the beginning. Depending on the project, this may involve alternative locations, backup dates, flexible itineraries or alternative shooting windows. The appropriate approach is discussed during pre-production and steps will be agreed upon.
