Make the most of every opportunity
Premium Coastal Engagement Experiences
For couples seeking something more exclusive, I assist with arranging premium coastal experiences — including engagement shoots aboard private cruises or boat charters. From coordination to execution, everything is handled so the experience feels seamless and relaxed. This approach is ideal for couples who want engagement shoot ideas that feel adventurous and personal, exclusive locations away from crowds, and a premium couples shoot that feels immersive and natural. The result is imagery that feels cinematic and authentic.
it's all in the location
Exclusive Couples & engagment Shoots from Mossel Bay to Plettenberg Bay and surrounds.
From the mountainous regions of Geroge, to the dramatic coastline and pristine beaches of Plettenberg Bay makes the Garden Route a natural fit for couples wanting something bolder. A private cruise out past Robberg Peninsula, with whales or dolphins a real possibility depending on the season, adds a sense of adventure few engagement/couple shoots can match. Whether it’s a secluded stretch of sand or the open water itself as your backdrop, every detail is arranged so you can simply be present with each other while the moment unfolds naturally

FAQ
Before you "POP" the question...
How long does the session usually last?
Most engagement or couples sessions run 1 – 2 hours. It also depends on the location chosen, some locations may require a bit of hiking to get to, which will add to the time…but well worth the effort.
What is the best time of day for a couples/engagement shoot?
The best time for your couples / engagement shoot is usually golden hour — about 1 hour before sunset. This gives us beautiful, soft, natural light.
In summer, sunset is around 7:30pm, while in winter it’s around 5:30pm. We recommend meeting at least 1 hour before sunset so we have plenty of time for the shoot.
Early mornings or even sunrise is another option.
Cloudy days are also great for shooting, the clouds act as a natural diffuser guaranteeing soft light at any time during daylight hours.
You can shoot midday, though it often requires more gear or shooting in shady spots.
What should we wear?
Choose complementary (not matching) colors and textures — solids photograph better than busy patterns. Avoid logos and bright neon.
Wear clothes that you are comfortable in. Especially if there is hiking involved, you can always bring a change of clothes or extra shoes with for a small wardrobe change.
Can we bring outfit changes?
Depends on the location – some locations have public amenities and some of the more “challenging” locations won’t have facilities for you to do a complete change. But you can always be creative with your outfit choices.
Is this shoot only for engaged couples, or can we do it right after a proposal?
Either works. Some couples book it as a “just engaged” celebration shoot within days of getting engaged; others wait a few weeks to plan outfits and locations. Just let us know your timeline when booking.
Do you offer a "surprise" proposal + engagement shoot combo?
Yes — we can photograph the actual proposal candidly (hidden or semi-hidden) and then transition into a posed engagement session right after, once the excitement settles. This needs to be arranged in advance with the proposing partner.
How do we choose a location?
We’ll share a curated list with photos and a short description of each (vibe, best time of day, backdrop style). You pick based on the aesthetic you want — romantic garden, modern architecture, scenic overlook, etc.
Do exclusive locations cost extra & who arranges permits?
Usually yes, if it is a private venue, then there is usually a fee associated with using the venue. If we are in a managed park, then there is a small conservation fee. We handle all the necessary arrangements and permits for you. Costs will be communicated with you before you book.
How do we lock in a location once we've decided?
Once you confirm your choice, we will require a security deposit when booking in advance. Private Venues normally require a 50%-100% payment up front. We handle the booking/permit request and send you a confirmation with the date, time window, and any venue-specific notes (parking, entry point, dress code, etc.) before the shoot day.
Cancellation
Cancellations or date change requests must be done 72 hours before the booking date. Booking fee will only be refunded if the shoot is cancelled 72 hours before the booking date or in the event that the shoot can not take place due to severe weather. For private venues, please check their cancellation policies on their website.
When do I get my photos?
Lead time for photos are within 10 - 14 working days from shoot date. A digital download link will be supplied. Photos will remain online for 30 days or removed immediately on request.
